Furious passenger lunges forward and smacks pilot over 13-hour delay

This is the moment an angry man dressed in yellow smacked a pilot because the flight was delayed by 13 hours.

Cabin crew and passengers could be heard screaming out in horror following the attack on the IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa on January 14.

While the pilot Anup Kumar addresses the passengers, the man in yellow runs up and whacks him.

He shouts: ‘If you want to fly, then fly the plane. Otherwise open the door.’

A man tries to calm down the unruly passenger as the pilot backs into the cockpit.

A female cabin crew member then screams: ‘This is wrong what you did. You cannot do this.’

Another cabin crew member then comes and takes him to the back of the plane.

The man was seen being escorted off and handed over to authorities by staff in another clip before he apparently apologised to the pilot.

The delay to the flight was caused by poor visibility conditions and fog as well as cabin crew replaced due to Flight Duty Time Limitations regulations.

This ensures pilots and cabin crew have adequate rest periods to prevent fatigue-related safety issues.

Official complaints have been made against the man by the pilot and IndiGo.

He is under investigation for physical assault.

The footage was posted on X at 8pm on the day it happened and prompted an angry response from users.
