Chief Inspector Steve O'Keeffe announced as one of the keynote speakers at the Stamp It Out Summit

Chief Inspector Steve O’Keeffe, the Lead for Roads Policing, Specialist Operations for Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Constabularies, has joined the line-up of keynote speakers at this year’s Stamp It Out Summit.

He will speak about the role of enforcement in reducing the impact of abuse on roadworkers.

A long-time supporter of the campaign, Chief Inspector O’Keeffe is helping Stam It Out engage with police forces throughout the UK, so that more people that abuse roadworkers are convicted.

He has been the lead officer for roads policing and serious injury collision investigation for over four years covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. He has worked at the national level advising Minsters and the Department for Transport around evolving micro mobility transport solutions and is currently the National Police Chiefs Council tactical lead for the Stamp it Out Campaign.

Steve is passionate about road safety with a prevention first mindset and is a road death review officer. Steve has been an officer for 29 years has previously undertaken a range of duties including siege / kidnap hostage negotiator , firearms commander , critical incident manager and force lead for multi-agency domestic homicide and child death learning reviews.

Taking place on the 17th September 2024 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London City and featuring a series of key, high profile (yet to be announced speakers) from across not only our own sector but also others where public facing employees are at significant risk of abuse from members of the public, the event is a must attend for all of those responsible for putting people to work on the public highways and across the rail sector.

Building on the huge success of last year's launch at the House of Lords, the Summit will examine the subject of abuse in much greater detail and look at strategies which employers and adopt and the support available from law enforcement agencies and broader society. The next phase of the campaign will also be discussed.

The event will also feature a Networking Reception the evening prior to the conference which is kindly sponsored by Network Plus.
